The Unconventional Distillery Company was established in 2019 by Sam Owen, Owner and MD of Salted Orange Food Co, an award-winning outside catering company in Lincolnshire.

Using his skills and talents for creating new and complimentary flavours, Sam has turned his hand to creating ‘Botanically distilled premium craft English rum’.

The Unconventional Distillery was born from a passion for food and drink, developed by Sam over 15 years in the catering industry, and a love of rum of course. Each recipe has been tried and tested over and over to create that perfect taste. The oak-aged rum has been a labour of love, waiting until the perfect moment for it to be bottled and shared with you all.

Running Salted Orange Food Company over the past five years has allowed me to learn about what people enjoy and experiment with different textures and flavours.

All our products are made in Lincolnshire and we use as many locally sourced products as possible because we are passionate about our county and the high-quality suppliers that we have been working with for years. As with Salted Orange we want to support our local community and create new jobs, whist acting to be as sustainable as possible.
